This study reinforces existing data on the use of aspirin in colorectal
cancer.
These long standing professional surveys by the Boston medical
team have been providing a range of new insights into the life
saving benefits of aspirin today. This extends to strokes, heart
attacks and other life-threatening conditions.
In fact a large number of people world-wide considered to be at
specific risk of developing these conditions are taking a daily
low dose aspirin on medical advice to improve general health and
life expectancy.
This new work in colorectal cancer importantly defines the specific
mechanisms involved like the part played by Cox-2 over-expression
as an important diagnostic factor.
Dr Chan and his colleagues have provided a significant step forward
in the continuing world-wide studies on the benefits of aspirin
recorded over the hundred years plus of its life.
