Conference 2022 Speaker Biography – Prof Junbo Ge

Ge

Professor Junbo Ge FESC, FACC, FAHA, obtained his medical degree from the University of Mainz in Germany in 1993 and now an Academician of The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Yangtze River Scholar. He is the President of the Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians and the President of Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance, Anhui Provincial Hospital. Junbo Ge is the Professor, Director, and Doctoral advisor in the Department of Cardiology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University; the Chairman of Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases; Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Clinical Medicine, Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases; Head of the Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, Fudan University the head of Institute for Pan vascular Medical Research, Fudan University; the Director of Engineering Research Center for Cardiovascular Devices, Ministry of Education.

He is also a board member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions; International advisor of the American College of Cardiology. He is also the American Heart Association’s international consultant, a member of the Council of the World Heart Federation, Honorary President of the World Association of Chinese cardiologists, and Visiting professor at Columbia University.

Prof. Ge is dedicated to innovation and optimization for diagnosis and treatment strategies in coronary artery disease and has been responsible for over 20 scientific research projects supported by the government. He has published over 490 Science Citation Index papers in Circulation, Circulation Research, Nature Review Cardiology, and other top-tier journals.

He has edited 1 English monograph, 1 main translation monograph, and 21 Chinese monographs. He is the Chief Editor of ‘Internal Medicine’ (8th edition, 9th edition) and ‘Practice of Internal Medicine’ (15th edition), Chief Editor of Cardiology Plus, and Deputy Editor of Herz.

Prof. Ge has received more than 14 awards, including the second prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress, the second prize of National Award for Technological Invention, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award presented by the Ministry of Education, the second prize of the China Medical Technology Award (twice), the first prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, etc. He was also awarded Elite of Science and Technology; National Labour Medal; the national ‘Bethune’ Medal; CI cardiovascular innovation achievement award; Tan Jiazhen prize in life sciences and Shulan medical award.

    Name

    Junbo Ge

    Ge Junbo, male, was born in Wulian, Shandong province on Nov. 8, 1962. He is the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor and doctoral supervisor. He received his doctor’s degree of Medicine from German Mayence University in 1993 and now works as the director for Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and the Center for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering, Fudan University. He is also the designate chairman of the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of Chinese Medical Association, council member of the Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions Association, international consultant of the American Heart Association. In Dec. 2013, he was appointed as the vice president of Tongji University.

    Prof. Ge has been engaged in clinical and scientific research work of cardiovascular disease since 1987, and his research area covers the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease, early diagnosis and treatment plan optimization.
