The International Aspirin Foundation expands its Scientific Advisory Board by appointing world leading neurologist Professor Pierre Amarenco
The International Aspirin Foundation is delighted and honoured to welcome internationally renowned neurologist, Professor Pierre Amarenco, to its Scientific Advisory Board.
Professor Amarenco is Professor of Neurology at Paris University and Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Stroke Center at Bichat University Hospital. He is Co-Director of INSERM Unit-1148 “Clinical Research in Atherothrombosis” team. As well as Consulting Editor, Stroke Journal, his research activities focus on understanding and preventing stroke and vascular diseases; Clinical trials in prevention of vascular diseases; Carotid intima-media thickness studies; Lipid and antithrombotic trials; prevention and therapeutic –protective- evaluation. He has published more than 450 peer-reviewed publications including 8 in the New England Journal of Medicine as the first author, and his role on the Scientific Advisory Board will involve guiding The Foundation’s work and contributing information of scientific importance to aspirin in the field of neurology.
Welcoming the appointment, Professor Carlo Patrono, Chair of the Scientific Board, commented:
