Emerging Investigator Award 2017

Emerging Aspirin Investigator Award 2017

Open to junior scientists who are in the early stages of their research career who are contributing, or who have been contributing, to the knowledge of aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid through original independent scientific research in the field of experimental and/or clinical medicine.

Whilst there is no fixed maximum age, candidates are usually under 40 years of age, however, applicants will be considered above this age if they have had a career break for family or other reasons.

The applicant needs to produce a statement (maximum 500 words), submitted in English, via email to ScienceAward@aspirin-foundation.com, which is supported by the group leader of the department where the scientist’s work is performed.

Where members of the Scientific Advisory Board have a conflict of interest (i.e. a mentor of the candidate) then they will not score that individual entrant.

In all matters pertaining to the Science Award, the decision of the Chair of the SAB is final.

Deadline for receipt of applications is 30th April 2017. Applications will be reviewed by the International Aspirin Foundation Scientific Advisory Board in reaching their conclusion at the June Board Meeting.

The successful applicant should be available to present their work during the Award Ceremony in Berlin on 13th September and be prepared to participate in media interest in the event. In addition they will receive complimentary registration to the International Aspirin Foundation Scientific Conference on 14th September 2017.

Applications are now closed.
