Session One :

Dr Jean-Philippe Collet is a Professor of Cardiology at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (APHP) where he leads the interventional catheterization unit (PCI and TAVI). He is also the director of Cardiovascular Training Program at Sorbonne Université. His main expertise is in the field of thrombosis, the effect of antithrombotic agents and the development of new devices for structural heart intervention.
Professor J Michael Gaziano is the Principal Investigator, Million Veteran Program and Executive Director of the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center (MAVERIC), VA Boston Heathcare System; Chief, Division of Aging, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School; all in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.


Professor Junbo Ge FESC, FACC, FAHA, obtained his medical degree from the University of Mainz in Germany in 1993 and now an Academician of The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Yangtze River Scholar. He is the President of the Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians and the President of Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance, Anhui Provincial Hospital.
Professor Carlo Patrono’s main research interest is in the study of platelet activation and inhibition in atherothrombosis and colorectal cancer. His research has characterized the human pharmacology of aspirin as an inhibitor of platelet COX-1 and provided the basis for the development of low-dose aspirin as an antithrombotic agent.



Bianca Rocca, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Catholic University School of Medicine in Rome (Italy) and achieved the National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor of Pharmacology.
Her main scientific interests are antithrombotic drugs, eicosanoids, haemostasis, platelets, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, cardiovascular diseases.
Professor Gemma Vilahur is Group Leader at the Research Institute of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Barcelona). She has published 160 articles (H=41; >5400 citations) including original manuscripts, consensus and position papers, and reviews. She is and has been principal investigator and co-investigator of multiple research projects (National and European projects either funded by public agencies or industry).


Session Two:


Professor Pierre Amarenco is a Professor of Neurology at Paris University and Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Stroke Center at Bichat University Hospital
Professor Matthias Endres is Chair of Neurology at the Charité Hospital in Berlin. Together with Ulrich Dirnagl he is also the founding Director of the Center for Stroke Research Berlin. His major research interests are preventive vascular mechanisms, mechanisms of cell death, regeneration and functional outcome, heart-brain interaction, post-stroke depression, and telemedicine.




Professor Peter Rothwell is a clinical neurologist with interests in stroke, vascular dementia, hypertension and aspirin. As an MRC Senior Clinical Fellow he established the Stroke Prevention Research Unit in Oxford in 2000, which was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 2014. He subsequently founded the purpose-built Wolfson Centre for Prevention of Stroke and Dementia, which opened in 2020.
Professor Lawrence Wong is a neurologist who uses advanced imaging technologies to further our understanding of stroke in Asia. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. 20 years ago, Wong observed that stroke was more prevalent among Asians than Caucasians. However, research into this area was lacking. He began to use Transcranial Doppler, an ultrasound imaging technology, to look at blood flow in brain blood vessels.




Dr. Scott E. Kasner earned his B.S. in Physics and Zoology from Duke University, M.D. from Yale University, and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (M.S.C.E.) from the University of Pennsylvania. He trained in Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, and then in Stroke and Neurocritical Care at the University of Texas at Houston.
Session Three:



Professor Andrew T. Chan, MD, MPH is a gastroenterologist, the Daniel K. Podolsky Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, Chief of the Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Director of Epidemiology at the MGH Cancer Center. Dr. Chan is an international expert in cancer prevention and interception, leading several seminal studies examining the role of aspirin, diet, and the gut microbiome on cancer risk.
Dr C S Pramesh is the Director of the Tata Memorial Hospital and the Professor and Head of Thoracic Surgery at the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. He serves on the UICC Board of Directors. He is the convener for the National Cancer Grid, a large network of 266 cancer centres in India (https://tmc.gov.in/ncg). The mandate of the National Cancer Grid is to provide uniform standards of cancer care across the country.




Dr John Chia is a clinical oncologist, the former Chief of the Gynaecology Oncology service in the Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre, and is a founding board member of the Gynecologic Cancer Group Singapore, and the chair of its scientific sub-committee.
Professor Ruth Langley is a Medical Oncologist specialising in the design and management of oncology clinical trials based at the MRC Clinical Trials Unit at University College London where she leads the Cancer Group. She has worked in a number of tumour areas including colorectal, lung and gastro-oesophageal cancer coordinating a series of trials and associated translational studies.




Anna Martling is a Professor of Surgery at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. She defended her thesis on rectal cancer in 2003, became a board certified surgeon in 2004 and an associate professor of surgery in 2009. In 2014 Martling became full professor of surgery. Since 2019 she hold the position as Dean at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm.
Session Four :


Professor Lina Badimon is the Director of the Cardiovascular Science Program (ICCC) at the Hospital Santa Creu and San Pau, Director of the Cardiovascular Research Chair of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Professor at the National Research Council of Spain (CSIC), and Director of the UNESCO Chair in Biomedical Sciences Training and Research. She is Visiting Professor of Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and University-Paris-East (FR).
Dr Emmanuel Bujold is a full professor at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of Laval University’s School of Medicine where he holds the Jeanne et Jean-Louis Lévesque Research Chair in Perinatology.

Dr Elisa Llurba, MD, PhD (ELL) is the Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Santa Creu i Sant Pau University Hospital. Associated Professor in Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and principal investigator (PI) of the Perinatal and Women’s Health Group, in the Santa Creu and Sant Pau Hospital Research Institute in Barcelona. Coordinate’s work of 15 pre-doctoral researchers and 3 post- doctoral investigators.

Dr Luis A. García Rodríguez obtained his medical degree at the University of Alicante in 1984, his MPH degree at the Free University of Brussels in 1986 and his MSc degree in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health in 1988. From that date, his career has been dedicated to epidemiologic evaluation of drug safety and effectiveness: pharmacoepidemiologic research.
Professor Zhu Chen is Professor of Medicine, Chief Physician, Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC, Division of Life Science and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China.
